How It Works
Designers on 99designs can work directly with clients through 1-to-1 Projects or compete in open Design Contests to win new opportunities. Whether you want steady client partnerships or creative challenges to hone your skills, 99designs offers both flexibility and freedom.
Types of Projects
From logos and websites to packaging and branding, designers can choose the categories that suit their strengths. With over 1,500 new design contests launching daily, there’s always fresh work to explore.
Payments and Fees
Signing up is free. Designers are paid safely through 99designs, which holds client funds in escrow until a project is complete. Payouts are processed within three business days—or faster for Top Level designers.
To support secure payments and customer service, 99designs charges a small platform fee:

There’s also a one-time USD $100 “introduction fee” for first-time client relationships (spread across their first $500 in project payments).
Build Your Profile
Each designer has their own profile page to highlight work, style, and experience. A strong portfolio helps attract clients for contests and 1-to-1 projects. You can even invite your existing clients to collaborate through the platform for easier invoicing and file sharing.
Designer Levels and Benefits
99designs curates its community by reviewing every designer’s skills and professionalism. Designers are grouped into three levels — Entry, Mid, and Top — with added perks such as faster payments, increased visibility, and priority support as they move up.
Level reviews are available every six months for those who meet specific criteria.
